August 22, 2021 4:00 pm EST–Havre de Grace Arts Collective Program: Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay

The Havre de Grace Arts Collective 4th Anniversary Celebration presents: ARTiculate Lecture Series: Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay Featuring author Jamie L.H. Goodall, PhD. From the golden age of piracy to Confederate privateers and oyster pirates, the maritime communities of the Chesapeake Bay are intimately tied to a fascinating history of intrigue, plunder and illicit commerce raiding. Author Jamie L.H. Goodall introduces infamous men like Edward “Blackbeard” Teach and “Black Sam” Bellamy, as well as lesser-known local figures like Gus Price and Berkeley Muse, whose tales of piracy are legendary from the harbor of Baltimore to the shores of Cape Charles.

Annapolis, MD 21401
signing copies of my book Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay: From the Colonial Era to the Oyster Wars. You’ll find me at the Page After Page bookshop.

September 28, 2021 6:00 pm EST–Profs & Pints

Profs & Pints presents: “When Pirates Prowled the Chesapeake,” with Jamie L.H. Goodall, professor at history at Southern New Hampshire University, scholar of piracy in and around the Atlantic, and author of Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay. Church Hall, where this event is being staged, follows all C.D.C. and Washington D.C. guidelines regarding public health. Guests who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 should continue to wear masks. The venue reserves the right to modify all rules to align with current and future regulations and best practices to maintain a safe and fun environment.
